Brazil - 190 million inhabitants and GDP grew by + 7.5% in 2010 - is starting to play a major role in the world economy and trade, strengthened by the continued strong growth during the period of global economic crisis.

The market share of Italian exports to Brazil grew after the international crisis, rising from 2.9% in 2009 to 4.3% last year, for a total value in 2010 that is close to EUR 4 billions. During the same period, Brazilian exports to Italy accounted for 3.1% of the national figure a little over of EUR 3 billions.

The allocation of the Football World Cup in 2014 and that of the Olympic Games in 2016 will give a further boost to investment (public and private, domestic and foreign) in Brazil.

From October 2011 to June 2012, a "Made in Italy" event called "Momento Italia-Brasile" will be held in Brazil, coordinated by the Italian Government, with the collaboration of some Italian regions, including Emilia-Romagna. The objective is to develop bilateral relations and business agreements in the economic, productive and technological fields.

The meeting of October 12th is an opportunity to deepening the opportunities that can be found for Bolognese companies in this big market; In addition, the "Investing in Brazil" Operations Guide will be presented and distributed, together with Confindustria Emilia Romagna and curated by Italian-Brazilian law firm Passini & Alvares.
